Your thoughts create your reality...

You are where you are in your life for one very powerful reason: You’re thinking the same thoughts that are getting you the same results.

You see, our thoughts produce feelings and these feelings determine our actions. How we act determines our results.

Let’s look at an example of a salesperson: Say an individual earns $5,000 a month selling computer software and decides that it’s time for him to step up his game and start earning more. He’s on pace for $60,000 this year and now he’s so excited because with the 5 new programs the company has added to their repertoire he’s for sure going to make a lot more money!

Every morning he arrives early and every night he leaves late. He diligently makes cold calls and sends out more emails. His hard work pays off and within 3 months he’s up to $10,000 a month. Wow! His determination and will power really made it happen for him! For a while. But then his old mental programing kicks back in. He did all that work without ever changing his thinking; “$5,000 a month is what I earn. I know how to earn this much”.

And guess what? Very soon, BAM! He was back to $5,000 a month. The potential was there for him to reach his financial goals; more software to sell, buyers who know, like and trust him… but he didn’t change the set point in his brain.

His mental program kept him stuck. The mind has been described as a cybernetic mechanism, meaning it will always return to its set point.

Instead of changing what we do, we have to change how we think.

Here’s something to try to help you change the way you think:

  1. Make a list of the major areas of your life and write down your current results

  2. Any area you’re not satisfied with, make a decision and define where you want to be

  3. Move in to action- start with your thinking

Now do this: Get a 3x5 card (or something smaller that you can laminate). At the top write “I am so happy and grateful now”. Follow that with writing out in the present tense all the things you’re going to achieve.

Keep this card on you at all times. Read it first thing in the morning, last thing before bed, and anytime you think of it during the day. When you read it, bring the thought down into your heart space and FEEL it as if you’ve already achieved what you desire.

It’s not easy but every time you swap a new thought to replace an old one you create new neural pathways to accept the new thought. Understanding this might just be the most powerful idea you can have.

The moment you decide to no longer think the same way, act the same way or live by the same emotions, it’s going to feel uncomfortable. And the moment you feel uncomfortable, you just stepped into the river of change. -Mr. Joe Dispenza

Know it. Own it. Take responsibility for it and you will always go in the direction of where your heart and mind lead.
